16 th.September.

I wake up and put central heating on, intending to do some course work, but not really in mood, so I’ll have a cuppa, slice of cake and a couple of rollies.
This p.c. is turning into an expensive type writer!
Tinnitus is very loud and high-pitched,
too loud to be drowned by radio at acceptable volume.
Back is arched and I feel weak, apart from that I’m fine.
Shouldn’t have left warmth of bed.
Main light makes too much reflection on keyboard,
small lamp provides enough light but casts shadow!, can’t win.
I noticed yesterday’s drinkers included more drinking orange juice and soft drinks rather than drinking beer.
Some have been known to drink several pints of orange each day,
surely there’s a hidden problem somewhere.
Getting to end of baccy,
I either stop up and finish it off or wake up later with prospect of having sufficient for one cig.
I decide to finish it off, as my chest gives me a pain as if in disagreement.
I have brainwave of using wedge cushion under keyboard and works well.
Room has warmed up after only a few minutes and has become too warm; I turn heating off, thinking back to those four years of sitting in freezing conditions in the back room of the big house. £25 per week to keep a house heated and then spending almost all of time in an unheated room!
I deserved to be sectioned.
Thinking back I should have fitted extra fans to the P.C. and would have been able to have heating on,
Have tried lamp in several positions but haven’t found one suitable for typing.
Suddenly I’m roasting; I hurriedly take dressing gown off and gasp for breath,
never known warmth like this before;
Windows are open and I relax as I cool off.
I’ve found a position for lamp, which allows sufficient light to fall on keyboard without it glaring, but will have to fix a shelf to create platform for it.
Cushion is spreading weight of keyboard evenly.
I liked the keyboard from the start but it is very heavy compared to the numerous others I’ve had.
I take time to study the table I’ve just bought,
this is the first time its been tidy enough to see the surface, usually its littered with so many articles that the beauty of its surface remains hidden from view.
I can spend hundreds, sometimes thousands on items but often I get most pleasure from simple cheap purchases, the table is one such item.
Typing errors are about one per sentence but with the help of grammar check, most are easily corrected and it’s good practise typing without being able to see the keys.
My eye has settled down after the fiasco the other day;
finding out the lens was faulty was unusual, the damage was probably caused by a piece of shit or similar on the eyeball, which ruptured the lens.
Typing’s coming on a storm, relaxing sounds from SMOOTH fm.
Finding it hard to break habit of using Caps lock, obviously shift is better but after 20 years I find habit hard to break.
Tea drained I pause to make a fresh brew.
I change into dressing gown number two, a black and white nylon number,
which is cooler but a little harsh on early morning eyesight because of the pattern,
Wouldn’t like curtains in the same pattern!.
I roll what will be my penultimate rollie, being extra generous with the filling,
possibly in a subconscious effort to use up all the baccy and return to bed.
Need to make something to lay over damaged chair arm for mouse to work on., weighted on either end to keep in place.
IDEA. Two jeans back pockets with 4 inch square of denim joining them, six-ounce sinker in one to counterbalance, will provide work surface and somewhere to keep mouse when not required.
Health and safety at work!
To me the most important aspect of any workspace is comfort;
My space may be unorthodox but as long as I’m reasonably comfortable then I’ll be reducing risk of strain.
Break for a bit of course work.
I break contents of ash tray up and make a rollie,
I’m doing this so I won’t be tempted to do same later when baccy has finished, should be enough for one left in packet.
I’m feeling hungry so am going to break for bacon, eggs, toast and beans, certainly enjoyed scran.
07:25 AM Time to return to pit.
