30 th. August.
30 August 20 08:29
Usual grey start to the day, chilly again. Forecast is more of same for week; I’ll have to stay in for deliveries, headphones and washer.
Had an idea of extending Ps2 to centre of window, should work.
Contacted Amazon this a.m. after seeing that an amount has been taken from my bank account and as yet goods haven’t been received.
Apparently the goods advertised were from a third party,
I sent e. mail , if no reply in three days contact..
0800 2796620 for refund.
Bit rusty with e-mail!
Sun breaks through clouds and temps me outside, I don’t think any deliveries will come today so may have tidy up day.
Post brings two Giros, one expected and one not, something to do with debt recovery.
A knock on the door heralds another delivery.
I watch the van driver casually drag my parcel from the rear of the wagon. He carries it with ease to the door.
“Do you realise that’s a twin tub washing machine you’re carrying? I ask.
“Sign here”, he replies, looking oddly at me.
I carry said parcel upstairs and unpack it.
Within ten minutes I’m starting on the mountain of washing which has been slowly piling up.
I break it in gently with a few tee shirts, followed by a pair of jeans, a double duvet cover and finally test it with a king size cover; no problems at all.
Articles washed, hung on line and I take an hours rest.
Everything dry.
I struggle to put the covers back on the duvets and decided I have earned a treat.
Peppered steak and 4 veg, followed by white chocolate before settling down to watch my hour of TV.
Satisfied with my day’s work I deem the cost of the machine to have been money well spent.
I was a little sceptical but it’s proved itself. I look forward to a good night’s sleep in a nice clean smelling bed!
I haven’t examined the machine too carefully, it does what it says it will and that is sufficient for me.
I now have a couple of shirts to iron and my chores are finished.
