Woke up to a pleasant morning, greeted by empty tobacco pouch and quarter of ounce of dope left.
I dress in basics, slippers, jumper and trackie bottoms, jump in car and go to shop to break into my last £5.00 to buy smoke.
I pause by the front door to look at the flowers which have bloomed, pick some litter up which had blown against the tubs, exercise for today.
Once again I’ve bought a mediocre chunk of dope so I intend to have a full day on the remains.
I’m struggling to adopt a suitable frame of mind for the smoke to take effect.
To take full advantage of any smoke I have to be safe, comfortable, relaxed.
Be free from having anything to do, have knowledge that I won’t be disturbed, and of course sounds.
I recently purchased an upgrade to my wireless headphones.
I stuck with the brand Phillips, opted for the surround sound version and am well pleased with the goods, offered at a low price on the shopping channel.
Comfortable, well padded, adjustable ear muffs.
Removable head muff to facilitate battery change takes away the fumbling with the hinged version!
Easily accessible large controls.
True they aren’t the lightest of sets but in truth they are comfortable the headpiece gives only the hint of its presence. Recharge base connections are as reported by another customer a little tricky to negotiate but practise makes perfect.
Just realised the cheap wireless doorbell I bought has visual as well as audio, handy when wearing headphones.
I’m beginning to look at the large cinema speakers in a different light, do I really need them?
If no then I don’t really need another Amp.
Only drawback to phones is because of their weight they tend to slip when I relax and put head back.
Live with it.
I’m not an audiophile, just lazy.
Radio cannot be improved regardless of what I put it through or how I receive it so £30 set will do backed up by Internet radio, both played through headphones.
HD TV transmissions have yet to arrive so Nikon speakers will be suffice for the majority of programmes being transmitted at the moment.
P.c. and headphones simple enough, possibly some dedicated speakers later on. Logitech £220.
I have to realise I have been put in a small box and after 12 months I have realised it will suffice.
I wanted minimalist and am on the verge of overkill with surround sound systems.
All I need is another pair of phones to be social able, I.e. if Ash comes round to listen, to what? I’ve already resolved not to re- enter the world of seeking downloads just for the intention of creating collections.
With a pot of tea and joint in my right hand I’m struggling to organise my workspace.
Really shit hot on typing today?
I like to type while listening to music, sometimes the beat falls in just right to dictate the speed and motion of typing.
I don’t see the point of putting together the bones of a home entertainment system and then turning ones room into an office!
No I’m definitely on the wrong road.
If I did without the Amp then I could lower the p.c. shelf so half of its facia would be hidden from view.
Any Amp later purchased would sit on the shelf above the p.c. and be?
Connected to TV. p.c. and radio….not needed.
Realistically large speakers are not needed, p.c. to Headphones while working.
If transmittion from TV. becomes Surround Sound, have Hp extension from socket for ease of use.
So once again a simple purchase has saved me money and made me take stock of position.
Head phones rule!
Covers Tinnitus as well.
I’m lucky in as much as I’ve lived through the nightmare of trying to organise a workspace among everything I deemed necessary to relaxation.
A room full of p.c.s, videos, music centres, instruments, amps and lots and lots of wiring.
I’ve also seen Ash’s flat, floor to ceiling with equipment and collections of music memorabilia.
True his collection is the feature of the room but its still only what it is a testament to his hobby.
My days of repeatedly listening to music are over, it stops me having the chance to listen to new material, new meaning never before heard.
I must think simple from now on.
I remember how well the 5.1 p.c. speakers worked. For their size.
Small is going to be the word from now on,
I am anti clutter.
I’ve had my parents strip wallpaper and paint the walls to give illusion of space so why fill what little there is with imposing, out of scale speakers etc?
Stupid.
So tomorrow I’ll once again strip down the system to the minimal.
Its not fair expecting me to use the present equipment at such a low level, amp probably died of disgust!
I’m desperately pulling on this joint, trying to extract a stone.
My initial work was done in one small room, I put everything together in that one room then tried to transfer same to living room.
I’ll never get the chance to play so much music again, using powerful equipment so I have to adopt what I have to living in a flat.
My neighbour complained several times when volume was relatively low.
each time he complained i turned the volume down until one day i gave him the chance to hear how angry 500 watts can sound!
Headphones are good enough to use on keyboards, future problem keyboard to p.c. connectivity.
Just disconnected all the speakers.
Felt like I was turning a sickly patient’s life support off!
I wrapped them in bin liners and put them in the bedroom, hopefully one day I’ll figure out a system for that room.
Room seems strange, empty in a desolate way.
I look forward to see if removal of speakers will improve TV picture.
NEED TO; replace in line gizmos, remove last traces of possible interference.
12:05 PM 4 joint’s down.
Done a little studying, came over with a craving for a Spam sarnie and a cuppa, nibbles coming on.
Sarnie, biscuits and a banana to quell them till dinner is ready. I take headphones off having worn them for a few hours to test comfort. For the sake of simplicity in the room I’ll try to get away with them.
