Just had telephone message; Mother has been down for her operation this morning and is back on the ward, will be going in to see her later about teatime.
That’s one more member of the family equipped with a new knee joint.
Feeling very much like I did yesterday, in a mood to let the day pass without interaction.
Had decided to give up on Internet and computer use but the battle is still on and it still serves me as the best way of passing daylight hours.
Weather is damp and humid, perfect growing conditions, plants should start to blossom now.
I’ve cut myself off from certain sections of previously viewed content to get myself away from daily connections. I am going to forget what has happened in the past 18 months or so and start again with a new direction.
I have been weak in my attempt to give up smoking tobacco but have not totally given up the fight. I realise tablets and the other various aids are no good for me, cold turkey and will power will have to be used if I’m to have any chance of success.

As long as one has a garden one has a future,
and as long as one has a future one is alive.

Frances Hodgson Burnett (1849–1924), American writer

Spent a couple of hours practising proof reading articles and generally passed away the time till I have to get ready to visit the “Old Lady” in hospital.
