Had a couple of bottles before returning home last night, straight in and straight to bed. Had a good 12 hours kip and feel all the better for it.
Went into village and did business and then treated myself to steak pie and a couple of beers, whilst doing so one of the people I’d met in middle house came in and I ended up with a good specimen of a chilli plant which now sits on window sill.
I spent a few minutes sitting on a bench in the square and a guy waiting for his wife to come out of the hairdressers told me about himself, his signing up for national service and his thoughts on life in general. He said that life was easier, less hassle in those days and he wished somehow they could return. He said life was moving too fast for his liking and things put off till tomorrow tended to be dealt with a month later.
He told me he’d been married for 52 years, some achievement, and no medals.
I came home hoping to do a little bit of work in garden but weather has changed in last half hour and once again it is overcast so may just have a quick tidy up and a couple of hours in bed.
My Mother is doing fine, in Monday, operation Tuesday and walking on Wednesday; by the reports on her chart she has been relatively pain free and looks good. I pity her when she does return home because the old man will be repeating his experiences to her and expecting her to be as mobile as he was after his operations but I’m sure she will ignore him and get on with getting back to normal.
Did my shopping last night so cupboards are stocked, may do a double shop this week to see me through the next month.
Met Brian today and he has decided to give up his garden and concentrate on his first love which is fly fishing, cannot blame the guy, after all if you are paying nearly three hundred pounds to fish you want your money’s worth.
