10 th July

Up at 7 45, still felt tired so went back to bed but after half an hour realised it was futile so got up again to greet the morning.
As predicted the weather is quite nice, hazy sky and sunshine, it’s going to cloud over later so today may be the only chance to do some gardening.

Bloody magpies are chattering away just outside on the rooftop.

Just done a full scan and came up with Trojan horse, which was safely deleted.

Quick look through news, national and local, nothing of any interest to me.

Am in a strange mood today, feel unsettled in as much as mind is?
Thinking again what should be done yet body reluctant to assist in any way.
Tonight going to have an early kip, take a Zyprexa and hopefully wake up tomorrow with a bit more enthusiasm.
Perhaps this last week of visiting the old man in hospital has tired me out or maybe the time is right to make some changes to my own sedentary lifestyle.

I seem to have been in a mild depression for a couple of weeks now but am unsure as to what actually triggered it off.
I called in to the club last night when I returned from the hospital; there were a few guys in.
One had been drinking in the town all-day and told everyone that all the pubs he visited were dead.

Another couple came in and reported they had left a pub because they had been the only drinkers in there.

Another guy had been barred out of a pub on Sunday night;
his girlfriend had gone outside for a smoke and got into conversation with a guy who was also enjoying a smoke, the guys’ girlfriend came out, saw the two talking and a fight broke out.
News of the fight was relayed to my mate who went outside and he began fighting with the guy! He made the mistake of dragging the guy back into the pub and several other people joined in, resulting in him and his girlfriend being barred.

So much for the smoking ban.
I sat and had my bottle but must admit I didn’t enjoy it without the accompanying usual cigarette; I did have a smoke at the front door but didn’t enjoy that either.
Beer and fag like cod and chips, bread and butter, separate them and you end up lacking.

Until I stop smoking I will not get the usual enjoyment from drinking so obviously I returned home.
Now the smokers of the club are catered for because they are using the tables and seats outside which belong to the bowls section.
A strange breed of people, if ever there was one.
I cannot see them putting up with the smokers using their facilities for too long, only takes a gust of wind and tab ends will end up on the sacred green.
There is talk of erecting a shelter outside for the smokers but I cannot see that catching on in wintertime.
So far three people have given up, which I suppose is a result; the bar staff however are still nipping outside whenever possible to have their smokes.
I cannot see regulars putting up with the constant opening and closing of doors while smokers stream in and out for smokes and drinks.
Something will snap.

Looking at the long-range weather forecasts the weather does seem to be showing signs of improving from the beginning of next week.
True I am sat here now with windows open enjoying the fresh air, even though it is chilly enough to warrant wearing a sweater.

Lost myself for an hour or so playing poker!
Must get away from that fuckin game, bad enough watching it on TV!
